extracting source version and loaded it using vs2005 done sucessfully but when i build only the web project of dotnetnuke to apply some of changes in deafult.aspx.vb i get the following list of errors...

I suggest to start with DNN install version, that is prebuilt and recommended for developing modules and skins - you only need the source version for modifying the framework source itself.

Yes. For example I use the Source to look for code examples I don't develop against it.
