I have installed DNN with SQL Server Express on a web host. To perform this installation the hosting company told me the following: "To install DNN, you should choose auto on your installation options and it will automatically install it for you." That has been done now and the drop down list of available modules provides me with only 7 modules.

How do I install other standard modules (e.g. Media module). As far as I understood, these standard modules come free with DNN.

Also can I uninstall modules that I do not want to use (I am assuming that doing so will improve the performance of my website)

To install additional modules, login as superuser ("host" by default) and enter Module Definitions in Host menu. Many core modules are prepared for installation and can be found in a list at the bottom of the page; select the desired modules and execute installation. To install 3rd party modules or updated modules downloaded from dotnetnuke.com, choose "install new module" from the action menu.

DNN comes by default with 2 modules: Text/HTML and Links, we consider as necessity, but can be deinstalled if desired. Besides the module selector dropdown contains virtual modules, that are not installable and shall not be un-installed, besides you will not get performance inprovements from its uninstallation.
