Hey guys,

I'm running into the same problem.  The URL keeps redirecting to itself or attempting to redirect to localhost.  I can't get the website to work on a production server.  Has anyone solved this issue?

Thanks

Same here...

I'm using remote desktop to run my own server that's out there from a laptop.

From this laptop, I surf to the site and am redirected back to my localhost on the laptop... ?

Using localhost in your portalalias table will do that.  The browser sets the context for where localhost is... basically 127.0.0.1 which is a loopback IP ( loopback in the context of the client ).  That is unless you've changed your default settings in your local hosts file ( different case ).

Basically, you just need to be using an unambiguous address.  Either the actual DNS routed address for the site, machine name, etc.  The key is in understanding how your client is going to resolve any given address... simply try a "ping" command you'll know quickly where it's going.

DNN4 ( to the best of my knowledge ) has no problems in this area... working the same as previous versions.

Sorry, for coming into this thread late... is there an update on status?
