hello..

i am new to dnn, please forgive my ignorance...

i am trying to setup a document repository with categories, eg.. templates, reports etc.. and control access to those categories by means of roles, so if a user that is assigned the templates role logs in and clicks the repository link he/she sees only templates and nothing else..

i have looked at the documents and repository modules but cannot work out how to do what i require.. any advice would be great!

thanks,

g

You could do this with the documents module, by putting each of the files in separate directories and setting the vew permissions on the directory.  The Documents module checks permissions before it displays.

Ok a quick overview.

1.  Create folders for each role within the file manager, ensure to set the permissions correctly
2.  When uploading documents to the documents module, select the proper folder, then upload the document

That will do it!
