FYI: I failed the module the other day as it had some security issues (my audit had taken longer than usual due to the large amount of new code, and my availability, so much of the delay is down to this). I've passed a document detailing issues and suggested resolution to the forum team, and they're working on getting it added to the release tracker

Hi Cathal,

Thanks for the update.  In Chris's post on dnnforums.com he said that he was hoping to get the changes finished and checked in by this weekend.  This raises another question about the release tracker process I have.  If you release a module to the tracking process, and there is an issue does it have to go all of the way back through the process again?  For example do you need to perform a complete re-test or just a test of the deltas since the last submission?  I guess this current case is a good example.  Are you going to perform a complete system and security test or just test the deltas from the last submission?

Whenever a module fails it get resubmitted right back to the start of the workflow. As some of the initial tasks are automated, if it passed those before, it will quickly get passed again. As for the larger tasks that's up to the people performing them. For the security audit, I use the delta's to ensure that fixes address the issues, and don't add any additional errors. In many cases the project leads use my exact code so this is a very quick and easy exercise. In the forums case, the issues required only small changes, so I anticipate passing the module within a few hours of it arriving at my stage (note: it took me approx. 3 weeks to finalise the audit on the first version).

Once the tracker is public, you'll be able to see all of this, including the comments, however the documentation of any security issues will always only be passed between me and the respective project teams.

Hi Cathal,

Thanks for explaining the process.  Hopefully you guys can get the forum through in a shorter period of time.

Do you know when the tracker will be public?  Or at least have a public viewable report?

Best Regards

I don't have a date, but I believe it'll be very soon. We've all been entering comments with the assumption that they may become publically visible at any time.
