How Do I place a sub or parent portal in a seperate IIS application pool? Is this possible or do I need another DNN installation.

Thanks in advance

Parent and child portals all run from the same codebase and thus run under 1 application pool.

If you need multiple portals in different app pools you must perform multiple DNN installations!

though you might be able to configure multiple IIS sites pointing to the same physical directory, where DNN is installed, and assign different IP/host-headers to the various web sites, there is no advantage, because code gets loaded more than once and there might be an issue of misfunction. Please note, that this configuration is not supported by DotNetNuke.

These posts are enlightning.

So if you are running many DNN parent portals from the same physical directory they must always be running from the same app pool?

We are currently running 15 parent portals with some combined in different app pools and have been having problems with the schedulers. I assume that is the problem?
