Hello,

I installed a dnn on a dedicated server at my provider earlier today, then I copied the portal to my virutal server. Did the required configuration like portal aliases.

When I access the portal via the IP/dnn(resides on the dedicated server) the tab menu shows up, then I go to the virtual server and access the portal via the domainname whatever.com the tabs menu DONT show up...

Both installations are identical and connected to the same database

Is there a difference how a dedicated and a virtual server is handeling the dnn application ?

When edit a text via the dedicated server address its work well, but when editing the same text via the virtual server  the Freetextbox appears:
FreeTextBox has not been correctly installed. To install FreeTextBox either:
(1) add a reference to FtbWebResource.axd in web.config:
<system.web>
<httpHandlers>
<add verb="GET"
path="FtbWebResource.axd"
type="FreeTextBoxControls.AssemblyResourceHandler, FreeTextBox" />
</httpHandlers>
</system.web>

(2) Save the FreeTextBox image and javascript files to a location on your website and set up FreeTextBox as follows
<FTB:FreeTextBox id="FreeTextBox1" SupportFolder="ftbfileslocation" JavaScriptLocation="ExternalFile" ButtonImagesLocation="ExternalFile" ToolbarImagesLocation="ExternalFile" ButtonImagesLocation="ExternalFile" runat="server" />

Another thing that also catched my attention is that while accessing the dnn installation via the virutal server a javascript error appears, this javascript does NOT appear at the dedicated servcer.

Best regards

It sounds as if not all of your configuration information was successfully copied to your new environment.

As Mitchel said, it appears that you're missing a file, in particular, check your bin folder to be certain all .dll files are present.
