I have a client who has several audio files up for either download or listening via the built in player.

He has several clients who are reporting that either will stop mid-stream - appears to be timing out.

Does anyone have any suggestion as to what I can change.  I don't see anything in the config, etc.

Thanks for any feedback.  I appreciate it.

John

Does anyone have any suggestion for this or is this the fault of our host, webhost4life?  I need to find a solution as I have many unhappy customers and it's getting worse.  I don't want to leave DNN...  We have too much invested in it.  Please reply if you can help.

1. We have a couple of websites with massive mp3 and wmv files - no problems are being reported.

2. Is there a problem with EITHER download or playback OR just ONE of these?

Here's the offending page.

If I link to the files with straight HTML or directly it doesn't time out, but via .net - it times out both playing and downloading.

Thoughts?

I had to extend the life of the asp worker process to get large downloads to work. In IIS 6, app_pool configuration, Health tab, set the shutdown time limit to 500 seconds. Also you might need to change settings on the Recycling tab. This worked for me.
