I guess I don't see the need for a vote when nothing prevents the information from being concurrently posted at the place the question is asked and on another site to aggregate as a FAQ. If the reason for posting links versus the actual information is to accomplish the latter, concurrent posting seems to me a very simple solution that is most beneficial to the community. It preserves context and makes the information accessible at multiple locations. Win-Win!

I have done this frequently...post a solution to a problem here, copy text, and then paste it into a new post on my blog for posterity.

I can't disagree with that Nik.

Hopefully, it's not hard for anyone that is around these forums to see that I post a lot more information here than I do at my site.

Back on the subject of violating Adsense TOS.  Don't you see this as a big problem?

AFAIK, no AdSense TOS are being violated by including the DotNetNuke Project ClientID in the search URL. I will verify this again with our AdSense rep and report back if there are any caveats.

BTW, this is similar to the search box in FireFox which generates a URL like this:
http://www.google.com/search?q=dotnetnuke&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official

This is a MAJOR pain in the backside and it should be changed in the available release ASAP. We can't even think of upgrading if this is not fixed, or if we do I'll need to set aside 3 days to go through all of the skin files and make the changes.

John, as always thanks for your help.

Google will ban your account in a heartbeat once they see traffic coming in from sites that break Google's TOS.  There's plenty of unsavoury sites that run DNN so this will only be a matter of time.

As regards people linking to their own forums, products, skin goodie bags etc, it would be nice if the poster very clearly pointed out it was a self link  or even a link to which they had a commercial interest. Otherwise I don't see the harm.
