I cannot get DNN to pay attention to the CSS I have written for my links. I have created CSS that specifies the colours of the links, text-decoration, etc. But DNN always gives them the default settings - links in blue, hover in red. I know that DNN is paying attention to the basic CSS (ie: font size), but not the link settings. Any ideas how I can get my CSS to over-ride the defaults in DNN?

I would suggest using a tool such as Firebug for Firefox or the IE Developer Toolbar for IE to investigate where the styles for your links are coming from, so you can more easily see what you might need to override.

As I said, the basic CSS is working -- I can change font size and colour -- only the links are not.

Do like Brian suggests. In the meantime, if you know which styles in the default.css are being applied to your links, you can copy and paste those styles from default.css into your skin.css or portal.css and then change them. Note that everything in them has to be restyled, otherwise they will default back to default.css. One way to test what is happening is to remove your default.css and force-refresh the page.

However, using Firebug and the Web Developer addon with Firefox will save you endless hours messing around with this. Install them both, then use "Edit CSS" in the latter and right-click "Inspect Element" in the former.
