I'm running version 4.5.1.  I exported a template from an earlier version of 4, and when I try to create a child portal, I get the following error:  Error creating Profile Definitions

When I go back to the portal page, it shows up with no alias, blank users and -1 page.

Only happens when I import my previous template with content.  The default DotNetNuke creates fine.

I have updated my schema file based on earlier posts and same problem exists.

Any more ideas, please?

I get the same thing.  I'm trying to create a portal in 4.5.1 from a template that was exported in 4.3.5.  It comes back with "Error creating Profile Definitions".  The portal page shows it with no alias, on users.

Find something....

The Dotnetnuke 4.5.3 version comes with one template and thats the DotNetNuke template....

Te upgrade and the install version only exist about the standard template...

All other templates doesn't work right...

Did the other templates like the Club version en the Portal template with just the homepage only in earlier DNN versions.. I am not sure about that,... because I am upgrading from somewhere DNN version 3.

The only way to install a new parent portal is to use the standard DotNetNuke template..

I think it should not be a BIG problem to investigate the standard DNN template and to see what the different is with the template you want to use..

I hope that we solved the problem with the templates....and then can take a walk to the skins....where you now can make a choice to search between the web and the site....Some skins we use didn't like this functionality

Till now the more then 50 not standard DNN modules we use are still working on the new DNN verion 4.3.5

Dont forget the machine key if you upgrade in your web.config file

I'm also getting the same error.  All worked fine in 04.03.05 but started erroring when I upgraded to 04.05.03.  Taking KAmerikann's suggestion I used the DotNetNuke Template and it created the child portal fine.
