Say I want to write an article.  I want it to span multiple pages.  I want this because I don't want one giant long page and also because each page will have its own advertisers.

How can I span an article across multiple pages?  Here is what I have started doing:

  1. I create a new page.
  2. I create an HTML/TEXT container
  3. I write page one of my article.
  4. I create the second page of the article
  5. On the first page, I create a link container that points to the second page OR, optionally I make the container just enough to get the link and copy the link into my original article and delete the link container afterwards.
  6. I now have a set of linked pages.

I am new at this, so I am hoping someone will give me a pointer telling me if this is way wrong and if some better method of doing this.  It's not too hard, it just doesn't "feel" right.

Thank you for any help.

Well, that definitely is the "brute force" approach, but it will work.  I believe there are a number of modules that extend the HTML / Text metaphor to a "tabbed" ( or multipage ) interface.  I'm sorry I don't have any links handy... well, actually... this is probably the one you want *grin*

There are a few articles modules around - I know that http://www.smcculloch.net has a nifty articles module, but it's a subscription based product, however, have you looked in the modules section of the DotNetNuke site?  http://www.dotnetnuke.com/tabid/794/action/cat/lcl/2/parentID/58/Default.aspx this is the articles section of the DNN site.

I know that Scott's does the paging method as you have asked for.
