Okay, I have just discovered a new "side effect".  So just to recap...

  • We implemented the User.ascx.vb fix.  That corrected the issue with the "Register" link created by the [USER] skin object.
  • We also now have a fix for missing values in the new user registration administrator email.  See this blog for details.

The new issue is this...

  • We have a custom Login Page defined in Site Settings.  The only module on this page is an Account Login module.  So nothing special.  The only reason we have the custom page is to ensure the use of a different skin than the Home page uses.
  • So from the home page (The Refuge), a user clicks the "Login" link created by the [LOGIN] skin object.
  • Then a user clicks on the "Register" button within the Account Login module on the Login Page.
  • The user is then sent to the same URL (http://www.therefuge.net/Home/Register/tabid/103/ctl/returnurl/Default.aspx) that was being called previously - from the "Register" link on the Home page prior to implementing the User.ascx.vb fix.

Does anyone have a fix for this issue?

I confirm, I have the same thing on my ste.

You get redirected to the correct page. However generated link contains "&ctl=returnurl" instead of "&returnurl" and that spoils everithing.

I guess another fix is necessary, this time for the account login module.

I think everyone is having problems with  the 4.5.3 upgrade.  Nobody can regsiter on my site now.  i applied the user.ascx.vb fix and now when the resister link is clicked, bang i just go back to the home page, which is where my account login modules is and also where i have told dnn to go when the login link is clicked.

 

Help, can we roll back this url feature
