Hello... I’ve been using DNN since 1.10 and now want to get into some development. I have a Server running Windows 2003 Enterprise R2 SP1 with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Express Version 8.0.50727.762  (SP.050727-7600) with Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0.50727.

I downloaded the DotNetNuke 4.3.7 Starter (I am following the instructions provided at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/453/Default.aspx) and ran it, it comes up with a issue very quickly after the other templates installed I get an error ICON next to "DotNetNuke Module Compiled / Error Installing - Click here for more information".

When I clicked the following error message was revealed: "Installation stopped because the directory for the ProjectType value did not exist.  The project type is invalid for your installation of Visual Studio."

After proceeding further and following the instructions we see several deviations from the screen snaps and what is showing now... When you get down to the steps to “Add New Item” in the dialog I see “DotNetNuke Dynamic Module” and “DotNetNuke Skin”. Of course missing is the “DotNetNuke Complied Module”.

Can someone also provide document on developing a Dynamic Module?

I would be grateful for any advice or help. Thanks, Hal...

OK. I've not solved the above issue, however, I continued on with the instructions and installed a new portal via Visual Studio. Then following the instructions -- I pressed Ctrl-F5 to perform the build -- I got two error messages in that two folders were missing from the StarterKit. They were ...App_Code\Reports and ...App_Code\Survey. I remember seeing them as part of the Install Kit so I copied them over to the new development folder and everything built without errors!
