I see that in the default skins  with DNN 4.5. there is a [NAV] token, but it is not mentioned in the skinning documentatation.  (The skinning documentatin is VERY old anyway - dated 2005.)   I also see that there are differences in the XML file as well, like the section commented out regarding "populate on demand" - whatever that means.   AND  in the skin.css file contains  comments regarrding '"menu option for using tables".   I haven't looked at the default skins in a long time. so these changes may have been  a long time ago. Anyone know where I can find current documentation on these or threads that have covered this?

Well, the best I could do was a PDF file that was created with tiny text, so I put into a table it's a comparison of what the classes can do.

Not many changes, only the Nav Menu is used now - I have a free skin that uses it..

http://www.ninasfreeskins.com/xdnnlight/home.aspx is the preview  - it's in grey and blue - a lighter version of the current skins. I've got another skin coming out in July that has more detail.

I don't know anywhere else that has the dnn menu in more detail that the pdf file that was created in the first instance about 2 years ago and my efforts in trying to find out more information lead me no where sorry..   But that is the comparison classes so I think if you're able to work with solpart  you could pick it up.

I did find quite a few bugs with the menu, but sort of moved on to using CSS based menus which seem to be more SEO in my opinion.  And there were things missing in the menu - I can't remember all the details but I do remember spending a difficult couple of months trying to get the nav menu to what the solpart menu does and never succeeded, and have looked far and wide to see if others did.

Hope this gives you at least a start in the right direction.

FYI - The original documentation that was offered up to the community for the NAV token is found here.  It offers some insights
as to why the move to a new object was made.

Thanks for that link Jon and it's pages 17 >> 20 of the PDF I made into a table that was in more human size fonts to work with.

I couldn't remember where the document was.
