Is this a fresh install of DNN 4.9 or was it an upgrade from an older version? I can't remember which version it was but one of the older DNN 3 or DNN 4 versions sometimes didn't have an Authentication menu item. I also can't remember the fix for it.

Okay, here's an odd situation.  I have a fresh install of DNN 4.9.  I go to "Host Settings" -> "authentication Settings" and choose "Install New Authentication System".  That takes me to the "Install new package" page where I browse for the file to upload.  So I select ActiveDirectory_01.00.04_install.zip and click next.  I then see the "Package Information" screen which wants me to click an "Accept License" checkbox at the bottom which I do.  Then I click next.

Here's where it gets strange.  Nothing happens when I click next.  Literally nothing.  No post back occurs, nothing at all happens.  So, I open the javascript error list and lo and behold: 'FCKeditorAPI is not defined'.

Please help!

This is a known problem with DNN 4.9.0. If you look up about 4 or 5 posts you'll see where Brianna has posted a link to a work-around.

I have the same problem, too. I  use 5.01 startkit. I do not have the "anthertication settting" option in the host setting.

Hi

I'm using DNN 4.9 and I want to use AD as authentication for my site. Bur in ver. 4.9 I don't have this option in the Admin->Authentication menu. Do I have to install any additional module? And where can I find it?

thanx

In DNN 5.x, please try Admin --> Extension --> DNN_ActiveDirectoryAuthentication.
