Hi,

I am getting the following Server error message on a fresh install of DNN 4.5.3 Source or upgrade from 4.4 on our Dev Server.

Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Common.Global'.

I am sure I have followed all the steps and previous DNN versions work fine on the machine.

Server configurations are Win 2003 Server Enterprise Edition SP2, Visual Studio 2005, SQL Server 2005

Is there something obvious I have skipped or are there any files missing in the source zip file. I haven't seen any one else having similar issues with 4.5.3

I would try clearing your "Temporary ASP.NET Files" for the virtual directory.  I just encountered this error myself.

I would also re apply the upgrade package files to the site to ensure that all files are correct!

I am having the same error, and would like to try this, but I'm not sure what you are referring to with the "temporary ASP.NET files."  Is this within a directory of DNN?
