Honestly, that sounds like a bug to me... #2 should give you the functionality you are looking for.

In the interim... you could also try simply adding a login module to all pages... which is visible to Unauthenticated users only.  It will show up on the target page, when hit... and disappear when the user has logged in.

Do me a favor?  Log this error ( just as you have written it up ) in our Issue Log at http://support.dotnetnuke.com.

Thanks

Scott - I have added a bug report (http://support.dotnetnuke.com/Default.aspx?p=23&i=2396)

Thanks for your support. I will work around it for now.

Scott I can verify that it works just this way.  Drove me mad for awhile.  :)

Ineville, if you want the log on page to look like the rest of the site change the admin skin to the same skin you are using for the site and you'll have a matching log in page.  Or just creat a new log in page with the skiin you want and add the log on module to it.

Cheers,

Paul Davis

Thanks for the tip about the admin skin - I think I'll do that.

Does anyone have an idea why this change was made as this is not the behavior from previous version of DNN? Why would we not make all of the settings for Page Management to default to "none specified"?
