Have just upgraded an old but very frequented site from 3.1.1 to 3.2.2 and got 2 problems:

in admin >> sitesettings I cannot view the files the site contains to select a logo for the website , there is a page error saying folder problem:

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Folder ---> System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Folder at System.Data.Common.FieldNameLookup.GetOrdinal(String fieldName) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.GetOrdinal(String name) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.get_Item(String name) at DotNetNuke.Common.Globals.GetFileList(Int32 PortalId, String strExtensions, Boolean NoneSpecified, String Folder, Boolean includeHidden) at DotNetNuke.UI.UserControls.UrlControl.GetFileList(String strExtensions, Boolean NoneSpecified, String Folder) at DotNetNuke.UI.UserControls.UrlControl.ShowControls() at DotNetNuke.UI.UserControls.UrlControl.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

When Browsing file manager there is no folders listed there at all and this semes to me to be the same problem... anybody got a clue ?

When trying to view system logg there is another problem: Logg cannot be viewed

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior cmdBehavior, RunBehavior runBehavior, Boolean returnStream) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery() at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteNonQuery(SqlConnection connection, CommandType commandType, String commandText, SqlParameter[] commandParameters) at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteNonQuery(String connectionString, CommandType commandType, String commandText, SqlParameter[] commandParameters) at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteNonQuery(String connectionString, CommandType commandType, String commandText) at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteNonQuery(String connectionString, String spName, Object[] parameterValues) at DotNetNuke.Services.Log.EventLog.DBLoggingProvider.Data.SqlDataProvider.PurgeLog() at DotNetNuke.Services.Log.EventLog.DBLoggingProvider.DBLoggingProvider.PurgeLogBuffer() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Log.LogViewer.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Anybody who got a clue about this ?

Johan,

I suggest to delete all entries from Files table and all entries from Folders table and run a recursive syncronize from DNN file manager.

ATTENTION: this is only applicable to DNN3 version prior to V 3.3.0 and DNN4 versions prior to V 4.4.0

Hi Sebastian

Thanks for the tip but nope it didn't make the problem go away Did delete all entries in tables Folders Files and folderspermission and syncronized the tables again but still the sam problem occurs .... i can select a folder in admin >> site settings but only when this folder contains no files ... then it doesn't produce an error but as soon as the folder contains files the error occurs.

  • do you have files or folders with special (Non-ASCII Characters) in its names? There are also a few ASCII characters, that shall never be used, e.g. ' + % / \
