Hi Project Team,

It is 15 days (and counting)  since the last change was recorded in the release tracker.

I'm also curious about the progress being made.

Cheers,

Marc

I assume the new forum module will be available BEFORE the next DNN 4.5.4  release?

It would be nice to have a graphical ETA timeline with upcoming release date estimates, even if release runs way behind schedule...trying to decide whether or not to build a couple of sites now using 4.5.3 w/ the current forum module, or wait for the next DNN 4.5.4 release that hopefully includes the upcoming forum release.

If I knew I had at least a month/6-weeks to wait, I would start building now with the current core, then brave the upgrade once the release reaches fruition; otherwise, I can just continue to wait patiently and play around with the current software for another month or so.  :)

Nonetheless, I am also waiting for XMod 5 to be released (by month's end, they say), so just trolling the forums for knowledge while I wait.  Perhaps the new forum/4.5.4 core will be released by month's end, too?  ...would be like X-Mas in July! :)

We have that. See:

If a module is not in the release tracker then the date is "very rough". For example the Survey module is Beta testing. Until it is in the release tracker it could be released July-September. Once it's in the release tracker it is usually 3-4 weeks unless it's rejected and you will be able to see if that happens.

Hi Michael,

As part of the core team, do you know anything about the status?  There seems to be a research project going on between Chris and Scott on how best to apply it to DNN.Com.  Just wondering if anyone knows the status of this?  Maybe since the DNN.Com install of the forum has been modified slightly the new forum module should be released to the general public.  If I read some of the other status posts, it seems as though it is running on other core member sites without any issue.

I do not mean this post to sound critical.  I am very greatful on the time that everyone has spent.  I just wonder how much longer I have to hang-on... is there anything that I or the community at large can do?  Chris said it was a matter of opinion at this point.  Any idea how to move that opinion into the dog fooding or release stage?

I'm waiting because I want to use it myself :) However, i wouldn't want anyone breathing down my neck on the Survey module so I will just be patient :) When it hits the release tracker THEN we will be able to track the progress, until then it is in the same state as the Survey module "still testing...".
