Hi,

I would be grateful for pointers, advice and offers to get me going with the following project, which comprises a website I'm developing in DNN/ASP.NET to have the following features:

  1. Automatically updated treeview navigation in a frame (there is a lot of content and the individual topics are longer than a page, so the navigator and the content really need to be in a frame each - think HTML Help layout).
  2. Authorised users can
    1. Edit content, which is contained in a database - each page contains a set of fields (e.g. Introduction (collapsible), Requirements List (with collapsed notes against each item) and Proces Steps (with collapsible notes against each step).
    2. Add, delete and move pages (elsewhere in the treeview structure).

I have provided this solution in HTML and DHTML until now (updating the content myself via an Access Application and AuthorIT) and am now looking to develop a DNN version that allows client-side updating and editing.

Any advice or offers on any aspect of the above would be gratefully received.

Thanks very much.

Regards

Gary

theres a couple of DotNetNuke projects that may be of help. The help project uses a treeview, and should give you an idea on how to store, edit and retrieve database entries, and the webcontrols project and clientapi project will show you how to utilise the ajax capabilites of the framework.

Thanks, Cathal!  I didn't kn ow about the Help Project -  I'll talk to Philip about getting a copy or participating, and play with the other components in the mean time.

If anyone else has advice or help to offer, please let me know or reply on this Forum.  I'm checking out some of the Bi4ce components as well.....

Thanks very much.

Gary
