When I try to upload a large video file to my Repository (a video file to the niftyVideo template), and it takes too long due to my ISP's uplaod speed, I get the following error message.

AssemblyVersion: -1

Is there anything I can do to increase the time out, so I will be able to upload these files?

Thanks,

B

To overcome this obstacle for now, I have uploaded a dummy file that is very small, and then I manually copied the actual file to the repository folder and renamed it over the dummy file. This could only work for me, but I need to let other members upload movies to the repository.
Please  help me find a solution, or do you believe that this is a bug that I should report?

It not a bug. You need to open up your web.config and look of the <httpRuntime.... /> under <!--allow large file uploads-->. More information on httpRuntime can be found at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/e1f13641.aspx

Mikeh,

Thanks for the support. However the web.config looks OK. It is :

 <httpRuntime useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" maxRequestLength="8192" requestLengthDiskThreshold="8192" />

This is basically 8MB and the file I was trying to load was only 3MB.

I also noticed that I don't have any issue when I do this on a copy of the web that is locally on my PC, and the file takes less than a second to load. It only happens when I have to upload the file to the live site via the Internet, and the cable modem upload speed slows the upload to some minutes.

Any Idea?

You may have to add a timeout to that line. By default I think it's only a minute so if it's taking longer than that to download it'll error out.
