A very strange thing has happened to my portal!

It has been a week or 2 since I last edited my portal. Today I went to make some alternations and I noticed that even though I have access to the site and portal administrative tabs and menu and also tag settings, the edit facility on every module within my is unavailable.

What has happened to my portal and how do I correct this

I currently running DNN 4.5.1 and I afraid to upgrade any further until this is resolved, as I may compound the problem

Make sure the "edit" button is selected in Mode, upper left hand corner. I went thru this too and just about lost my mind.
