I've been building my site up until now in a test folder, and now I want to move it to my production machine and place it in a folder with a different name. Is this easily done? I know many settings within the site point to the actual folder names.

Thanks

There should only be a few places where the actual folder is referenced.  I'm thinking of the portal alias and image/file paths you may have defined. I accomlished this by renaming the folder and creating a new site in IIS that pointed to this renamed folder.  You would define your new alias in IIS and then you would need to change the portal alias in your db to reflect this new alias.  You could go ahead while your site is working now and add the portal alias that you would define when setting up your new IIS site. You would then need to go into your skin(s) files and redefine any relative image paths.  Same thing with any documents you've linked to.   I'm sure there are other ways to do this so maybe someone else will chime in with a better solution.

if you only change the physical location and not the http address, you don't need to change anything. if you move your page to a different http address, first add the new address per portal as additional alias: log in as host user, go to portals in host menu and select your portal. scroll down the page to the and and add the new address.

Thank you. It will take a while till I get my production server so I'll have time to test it. Is it possible though, to duplicate a site? Suppose I install a brand new DotNetNuke instance on another machine, couldI want copy the entire portal over to it?

Thanks
