Here is the story. I was adding a new field to the user profile and while going through the steps of making a new field, naming it and giving it a default value, making it required (biggest mistake) the tool stopped updating and I could no longer return to the grid view. So I backed out, and returned to the grid view then deleted the new field hoping to start again.

Now, its still recognized as there when it is not. When I try to log in (even as a super user) I am prompted to update my profile, but since the new field really doesnt exist I get an object reference error and thus can no longer login.
Im sure I can fix it, but I need to be on the portal.
Anyone know a way around this so I can finally login and clean up?

WORSE THAN I THOUGHT. 
I was able to log in to a child portal then use the host settings portal link to get onto the pooched portal only to find that NOTHING on my portals update. Try delete the bad profile property, NO UPDATE, add a new module to a page, Doesnt Add, I get this error and would be very thankful if anyone know what this means
