CSS

I cant for the life of me get the fck editor options to take my css file.

It should be simple and I guess I am just missing something but I have the file style.css at my portal root... I select URL for my Editor Area CSS and select file and then my file is there..

I choose the file and apply to portal but even time I come back in the setting is not saved.. what am I doing wrong here?

I just downloaded the most recent version of DNN.... a clean install on a new server.

I simply go into the css options for the editor... select the file on my web server and apply to portal... when I pull it back up the options are changed and I dont haev any of my styles listed.

What am I doing wrong here?  Is there a way to force fck to always list the styles from a specific css file maybe?

I don't know if you are aware that styles dropdownlist is generated from a XML file?

There are two files that must be setup to make your styles available to the editor:

1) an XML file containing the description of all the styles that must be included. You can find help about the file format here:

http://wiki.fckeditor.net/Developer%27s_Guide/Configuration/Styles

The provider includes options to: a) Use default styles from the fckeditor folder, b) generate styles dynamically based on your DNN styles and c) use a custom file specified by you

2) an CSS file referencing all CSS styles defined in the XML file (Note that is not mandatory to reference a css style because the styles can be applied in.-line). The provider can generate this a) FCKeditor default, b) Automatic from your DNN styles and c) a custom file made by you

Hope this helps

ok good info... here is what I want to do... I want the user to have a dropdown list of every style in my skin.css file which is of couse in my skinpath.  Can you please advise how to make this happen?  You say  "b) generate styles dynamically based on your DNN styles"  what do I need to do to make this work?  This is what I was trying to do when I was selecting the css file from my folder.. but it didnt work.

Thanks
