I am new to Dotnetnuke and very happy to see something like this available free of cost. We are planning to use this for our company portal. I have a question here. We have different businesses in the company and users attached to those businesses. I am planning to have a main (parent) portal which will be visible to all. Here is what I need... Mr. John Scott belongs to Business A..In the user profile, I have defined his business. John comes to my main portal and logs in....I want him to get redirected to a child portal which is the Business A child portal...post login he will be using the forum and other modules as logged in into the child portal.

Is this possible with dotnetnuke as of now? I am using the latest version...If this is not possible is there anyone who can help me in creating this. I am ready to pay as well. Thanx!!

It is not possible out of the box. All portals, even child portals are independent. The term child portal is a bit confusing, it refers only to the fact  that a child portal listens on a "child folder"  of the request url.

Redirecting a user based on profile settings should be an easy task, however your user needs to login again as this is a new portal to him. There is no SingleSign, build into the core.
