We found that when using a Web Farm it is best to give your content admins a URL directly to a single server.  We URLs like admin.domain.com.au which the admins used to maintain the sites.  this way we not only get over the caching issue but can also load balance the admins as well by dedicating a server to them during particular periods and then readding that serfer back to the pool when the admin load is low.

Hi

I enter in your discussion based the fact I'm try to use WebFarm for my European Organization. I've about 10,000 users that need to access my portal, but I'm still struggling to have the farm operational with 4.5.3 and a remote NAS.

It's 3 days I get errors when I try to access the site from one of the web servers. The documentation it's pretty clear, but also if I trusted for delegation the web servers, I've security errors when the application try to access web.config file.
Did you managed special activities to have this webfarm operational? Can you halp me to have this configuration operational?

I'm a little scared with the broadcast solution due the potential hi number of users connected.

Thanks in advance for any help

Kid regards

Daniele

I would really appreciate more information about your approach of pointing content admins to a particular server. We are using NLB so in order to do that would I have to have a public address for one of my webheads?

You need to create an application pool on the web servfers and the file server and give that User the rights to run DNN.  Apart from that we didnt do anything special.  Im building another web farm this week so Ill blog each step I take.

Cheers
