Hi,

I need to have to menu's on my page, one on the left and one on the top. Now I know it is possible to have to menu's on the page, BUT I need them to have different menu-items.

e.g. the left has  'home' and 'about us'  and the top-one has 'profile' and 'products'.

I am using dnnmenu (for now because I'm still having style issues), but my question is: HOW DO I IMPLEMENT THIS IN DNN ?!

thanks,

Hi,

I was exploring the solpartmenu and build this http://test.quacos.nl/pagina/suppagina1/tabid/61/Default.aspx, if this is what your searching for and you consider using the solpartmenu, I'll be glad to help. bas.grootjans@gmail.com

I'm sure you can do this with the dnnmenu and you would probably have to adjust the start tabid property to get the items you want for each menu.  Your navigation structure would have to be correct also...meaning parent and child relationships are defined.

If you stick with the dnnmenu you are going to have to understand its associated properties since these are what's going to allow you to do what you're trying to do.  You will need to place 2 instances of the menu on your page and make adjustments to the properties accordingly.  I know there is at least one document on the dnnmenu that was produced by Jon Henning that list the menu's properties.

I started out using the dnnmenu but gave up after awhile only because it wasn't being widely adopted by others and examples and help were hard to come by.  I stuck with it as long as I could but the pressures of getting the site launched forced me to look elsewhere.

I settled on using the Snapsis Menu and have not been disappointed by either the support or the quality and flexibility of the menu.  I have been able to accomplish every site navigational goal using the menu.  The menu has IncludeTabs and ExcludeTabs properties to help you to accomplish the exact things you're trying to do.
