I'm totally new to SQL server and somewhat to DNN and VB too.

I want to put birth date on registration table and put some code on default page so that, whenever it is displayed, like announcement, every user of DNN must get birthday today list. This involved database changes, and also how to get database in particular page to check it. Further, based on rights given to particular user, i want to enable or disable particular link in links module too.

Can anybody please help me how to do all this in DNN ?

Regards,

VBN

you can alter the user profile page using Manage Profile Properties in Admin :: User Accounts. Add date of birth as additional property.

To display the Birthday List for Today, develop it as DotNetNuke module (accessing the appropriate user profile properties) and place it on all desired pages (or onto a single one and check the option "show on all pages").

Dear Leupold,

First part of adding brithdate property is fine but how to include new DNN module and how to check it thru it ? I also want that if somebody has special rights, like in uploading files, i have not to moderate it etc. so i want to use profile to check and enable or disable links in link module too.

Specifically, I don't know how to check it in any module or make such module. If you can give any example module I can explore it to learn for that.

Thanks for help
