you do not need to use the role provider, just use RoleInfo and RoleColtroller.

To fill the roles for a userinfo object user, you need to add:

Dim controller as DotNetNuke.Security.Roles.RoleController = New DotNetNuke.Security.Roles.RoleController
user.Roles = controller.GetRolesByUser (user.userID, user.PortalID)

DotNetNuke 4.5.4 wll have a new overload for userController.getuser with an additional HydrateRoles parameter.

Why an overload - and not just a simple Hydrate on demand ???

Dim controller as DotNetNuke.Security.Roles.RoleController = New DotNetNuke.Security.Roles.RoleController
user.Roles = controller.GetRolesByUser (user.userID, user.PortalID)

what do you declare user as?

There seem to be a ton of changes from 2.0 - we are converting to 4.3.7.

I have page x assigned to role HO and user LTK to user role HO - however when LTK is logged in page x doesn't display as an option.  Any suggestions?
