i run into the same problem as this thread describes: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/118/threadid/103114/threadpage/0/scope/posts/Default.aspx. in this thread, 3 people suggested 3 solutions. i can't use any of them as my dnn is hosted on a web host. can anyone knows how to deal with this problem advices me how to approach my host to fix it? thanks a lot!

I am pretty sure that it is a hosting issue, please check with your hosting provider your IIS web site setup.

finally got the problem sloved. my host has given NetworkService the permission to c:\temp and c:\windows\temp and now i can access host settings. Leupold, you have been very helpful. thanks!
