I downloaded the 4.0.2 source and When I go to comile using vs2005 I recieve a lot compilation errors. is there anything I am not configuring correctly; I am using .net v2. I am really confused at that point. The Reason I am doing this I am trying to track down a error with checking the write functionality of the portal folder. the software is comparing //Portal to /Portal in not having write enabled which I have made certain it has.

Hello kccarter,

i have the same problems.

i got solved same errors by recompile the classes DotNetNuke.Webutilities or so and DotNetNuke.Libary.

But there are now still many erros open.

I read on DotNetNuke Forum the class ClientAPI doesnt exist it is reneamed and called now DNNClientApi.

maybe we stay in dialog?

I have been able resolve the compile errors I just can not get it to install on windows xp pro IIS 5.0 the portal/log/xml.resource is being treated as read only and the flags are set to read and write. It doesn't make sense.

Do you have a web.config?  You need to rename release.config to web.config.  This is because ASP.NET2 now looks in web.config for all the project level Imports statements.
