Mates,

I just want to ask if it is possible to use the DoDirectPayment method of the paypal in a dotnetnuke module? I have  a website that uses this method and it works fine but when I migrated my website to become a dotnetnuke module, I get the error “A socket operation encountered a dead network” when I call the DoDirectPayment method. I really really hope that you could help me with this.

Thanks!

Ric P

Yeah you can use it are you sure you have all the right urls for the paypal services in the code

I assume you are on the same server and network as the website you moved over - otherwise you might double check the open ports and such that you need (even though i think it just uses port 80)

You are right. I am using the same server and network from my original website. I'm still getting the error up to now. It says could not connect to remote server and when i look into the innerexception, it says "A socket operation encountered a dead network". I tried running my original website and it was still going through. I hope you could help me with this one. Thanks!

Did you ever find the answer to your question?

Yep. For some reason, our ISA server was the one at fault.  Once i installed my site outside our ISA network, it worked smoothly.
