I'm building a component that uses the DNNMenu and DNNTree at different parts, but I am trying to determine what the exact purpose of some of the properties are.  I haven't been able to find a documentation to tell me what those properties are and I'd rather not spend a lot of time experimenting to figure it out.  In general, the following is a list of properties I'd like to know what they do

  • CssClass (seems like a default "catch-all", but i wanted to make sure) -- DNNMenu/DNNTree
  • MenuBarCssClass -- DNNMenu
  • MenuCssClass -- DNNMenu

If there is an API documentation listing all of these properties and what they do, that'd be ideal.  I have looked around on the webcontrols page but nothing seems to paint it out in black and white.

The skinning document or navigation webcontrol document is your best bet.

CssClass - This property is inherited from the base webcontrol.  It currently means the same thing as DefaultNodeCssClass

MenuBarCssClass - This is the css applied to the outer container control of the menu

MenuCssClass - This is the css applied to the submenus outermost container.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, I ended up following the source tree and figuring out where they all tied in and what they did.

When I set UseTables to false on the menu, it gets all sorts of funky and I can't see the child items at all.  Any advice on that?  I'll admit I haven't tried the sample CSS from your sample site yet, but that is something I will be trying shortly.

Yeah, moving away from tables does cause issues that need to be solved in css.  This is why I defaulted to use them for the sub-menus.  I'd check my sample css out (as you probably already did).
