Does anyone have any experience with these modules?  I'm mainly interested in the List Serve aspect of this combination.

Thanks

If you are interested in running mailing lists, I think that you'll be much better off if you run some mailing list software.

I use Active Forums and Mail Connector on a site, and it works well.  But, I've also run mailing lists, and I think that software dedicated to that function is better ... assuming that your goal is running mailing lists.

I am a member of a home school group that I've helped migrate from YahooGroups to a website.  Some of the members are not very computer literate and only know how to respond to email.  I'm attempting to setup something similar to YahooGroup until I can bring everyone up to speed.

So the short answer is my goal is not to run mailing lists, but one mailing list.  I've managed to setup Mail Connector so the members can reply to forum posts via email but I was wondering if it was possible to create new posts to a forum from email.

I also created a fake user whose email address is an email list and subscribed to the main announcement forum.  This way everyone receives an email for any posts that are made to that particular forum.

What kind of mailing list software are you using?  Are you running it from your home computer or is it integrated with DNN?

Thanks.

I've used Lyris and Mailman.  Neither integrated with DotNetNuke.

Yes, you can create new topics from email using MailConnector.  Just send a message to the forum's email address.
