as strange as it may seem, I recompiled the asssembly and then the errors disappeared.

I now have a working DNN site

So nobody is any the wiser. Sorry

I've tried twice and it still fails.  Tell me this isn't a case of 'third time fixes the problem.'

Also, if this is just a case of maximum number of warnings and errors reached, then how can I either increase the number allowed or turn off the warnings or both?  I've been trying to figure out how to increase the allowed warnings and can't figure it out.  Either it can't be done or I don't think like the VS developers.

Can you help?  Thanks, Will

Guess what?  Third build worked -- that's not right!  Someone explain that to me.

The resulting web page lists 'An error has occurred' twice.

Ever seen that?

Okay.  I refreshed a time or two and it mostly came up.  I'm afraid I'm using the file system approach instead of IIS and that is causing some of these quirks.

Did you rename release.config to web.config, before compiling?
