I was not sure where to post this and put it here because it was Michael's AJAX email example module (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/1434/Default.aspx).

When I send email with the "Send Mail" button (btnSendEmail) I get two emails to each person selected. When I send email using the "Post back" button (btnPostBack)  it works correctly and I only get one message per user. Since both of these buttons use the same procedure (btnSendEmail_Click) I assume that it is some AJAX interaction but have had no luck running down the cause.

Any suggestions as to where I might look?

I am using DNN 4.4.3.

Thanks, Matthew

Did you create the module from the tutorial yourself or did you just upload the attached module? Also, are you using VB or C#?

I downloaded the files and added them to my DNN development solution. I am using the VB version. I was using it as a model for a different module and wanted to be able to step through your example and watch it work. I have not make any changes to the files. I also just finished visually comparing with to the links from the blog post and did not see any differences there either.

Can you try it where you just install the module using the normal module install and see if it exhibits the same behaviour. Sometimes an extra "handles event" gets created when you copy and paste code.

OK here is what I tried.

Removed the version of the AJAX email from my test page
Removed the version of the AJAX email from DNN
Removed the AJAX email subdirectory and files from my solution
Removed the module I was creating based on the AJAX email example from my test page
Removed the module I was creating from DNN
Removed the module I was creating's subdirectory and files from my solution
Recompiled and ran in debug mode
Installed the VB version of AJAX email from a fresh download
Created a new test page and added AJAX email to that page

Sent email to a single user using "Send Email"
- Got 2 copies of that email
Sent email to a single user using "Post Back"
- Got 1 copy of that email

Set a break point on:
Protected Sub btnSendEmail_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles btnSendEmail.Click, btnPostBack.Click

When using "Post Back" this break point get hit once
When using "Send Email" this break point get hit twice (When I hit the "stop debugging" button before it runs through the second time I still get two messages. Since I beleive that that command stops all of the processing I assume that the double send has already occured but it does seem strange that this would get hit twice.)
