I totally agree! I hate noisy sites, and if left up to me there is no way I would put it on there. However, the client thinks it is great and insists, so what to do? Oh well. here we go. I am just going make it part of the skin. I also feel this way about the heavy use of Flash and I fight that battle almost daily.

This site uses a http://www.inventua.com media module to put music on the site, but allows for some control. http://www.cmo-music.com/

I have not tried it but maybe you could find a way to make the module invisible but still have it play.

Well Hi Mitch,

Fancy meeting you here! I did consider that, I just hate have music start over on each page. I will either do that or keep digging around for a module.

Thanks,

Beth Vest

Actually, that's one of the points I usually bring up when trying to discourage background music. The only way I've found to make it constant and uninterrupted was the use of frames (yikes!) which we all know leads to massive headaches, and I can't say I've ever attempted frames w/ a DNN site (aside from the iFrame module).

PS - Don't forget the usualy format for web page background music is a MIDI file, as it's small in size, but they sound terrible. You can try to put on a MP3, but there are bandwidth issues to consider there as well, and let's not forget those magnificent copyright issues these days.
