I am trying to install DNN 4.0.2 on my webserver and I get this error???  Any ideas on what the problem is??

Server Error in '/portal' Application.

Could not find file 'd:\hosting\insanespiv\portal\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\DotNetNuke_template.mdf'.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'd:\hosting\insanespiv\portal\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\DotNetNuke_template.mdf'.

Source Error:

The source code that generated this unhandled exception can only be shown when compiled in debug mode. To enable this, please follow one of the below steps, then request the URL:

1. Add a "Debug=true" directive at the top of the file that generated the error. Example:

  <%@ Page Language="C#" Debug="true" %>

or:

2) Add the following section to the configuration file of your application:

<configuration>
   <system.web>
       <compilation debug="true"/>
   </system.web>
</configuration>

Note that this second technique will cause all files within a given application to be compiled in debug mode. The first technique will cause only that particular file to be compiled in debug mode.

Important: Running applications in debug mode does incur a memory/performance overhead. You should make sure that an application has debugging disabled before deploying into production scenario.

Stack Trace:

[FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'd:\hosting\insanespiv\portal\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\DotNetNuke_template.mdf'.]
System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) +2014269

I get this too along with many of the other errors people have had.

Each time I nail one problem it turns into something else. If there was a problem I would say it was with my understanding of the install document.

I wish there was a document for a clean install of 4.0.2 rather than all the scenarios rolled into one for a newbie its really confusing.

I guess I'll keep plodding along until i get bored and try something else.... is there another open source project similar to this one?

Just in case I really am too stupid to follow the DNN instructions properly!

You have to add the DB per the instructions in the welcome page.

Right click "app_Data" and add new item. Add a SQL database, leave the defalt name. That's it.

I really don't mean for this to sound like I'm an ass, but this is in the setup directions on the welcome page.
