I tried to install multiple DNN 4.5.3 instances with different objectQualifiers but connecting to the same database, but no luck so far. My question is, is this even possible? Can different DNN instances have the same database?

If the answer is no, then what;s the purpose of objectQualifiers?

It will be greatly appreciated if anyone can clarify it for me. Thanx!

I haven't tried this for a long time, so I am not sure. Due to Microsoft membership component, all DNN installations need to share ASPNet Membership tables.

In installation guide, it says:

"

The objectQualifier attribute is used to control the prefix applied to every object in the
SQL Server database. ...
Setting this value is recommended, as it allows DotNetNuke to exist within an
environment where multiple applications might need to use the same database.

"

I guess "multiple applications" here means DNN + applications other than DNN, instead of meaning

multiple DNN applications.

Anyway, thanks for the reply.
