Hi,

hopefully someone can enlighten me....

I am using DotNetNUke 4.5 and I have a query regarding portals and subdomains...

Lets assume I have a domain www.mydomain.com which is my host site. I have another domain newdomain.com and I want to create 2 portals from this domain using subdomains such as http://subdomain1.newdomain.com and http://subdomain2.newdomain.com. My question is simply... is this possible?

Thanks in advance,

Tomas

Yes its possible.  When you create each of the new portals in the Portal Alias field enter one of the subdomains. Its just no 2 portals in the same install can have the same 'alias'

Thanks WebPC,

Just another thing...

I am using helm web control panel. If I want to add 2 aliases (2 subdomains of newdomain.com), what do I need to do in my control panel first? Do I create the newdomain.com domain as a hosted domain and add the 2 subdomains to that and then set those subdomains as aliases in DNN? Or do I add the newdomain.com as an alias to the mydomain.com in helm?

Thanks again,

T

Unfortunately, I currently don't use HELM.  Suggest you try asking your web host.

Thanks Antony,

I'll go to the forums on the HELM website and ask there.

Thanks again for the help.
