I tried to add some locales but seems it's not helping.

I believe the issue is in the DNN core and can be reproduced from the following steps.

  1. change your local system date format to "dd/mm/yyyy" or "yyyy/mm/dd".
  2. launch DNN website, login as admin or host.
  3. Click on Admin::File Manager
  4. Click on the "Upload" button.
  5. Browse to any file on your local machine. (file extension must be allowed in your setting)
  6. You may see any error message says uploading failed.
  7. Return to File Manager, you'll see the file is actually uploaded but with a wrong date (12/31/1600). This file is not visible/usable by any other DNN functionalities.
  8. I got the following result: Date Format Error Image
  9. Change your local system date format back after testing.

I got the same result in two different machines. I wonder if any of you can get the same.

Any solution or workaround is appreciated.

Generally people want to do this when they are based in the UK, or a country which doesn't employ the US date format mm/dd/yyyy.

To change the format, you need to add a new locale under Host/Languages. Pick "English (United Kingdom)".  Then set the default language in Admin/Settings to English (UK). Then for each user set their language to English (UK).

That should do the trick.

Hi,

I did exactly the same to change the date format from MM/DD/YYYY to DD/MM/YYYY but no difference.   I tried with English UK and English AU but no change in the events module.  What could be the problem?

Hi,

Sorry.  The date format is changed now.  Probably its the cache problem.  When I closed all the browsers and opened the portal in a new one, I could see the date format change.  Thanks

Hi,

When I changed the locale in the user profile then it worked for the Registered users.

Thankyou very much.
