I am new to DNN and to ASP.  I had a small amount of experience with DNN on an ASP 1.1 system.  Enough to make a decision that I want to switch my system from PHP Nuke to DNN, but I have no experience with ASP.NET.  My new Host offers me the choice between ASP.NET 1.1 or 2.0, but I know nothing about it.  The usual assumption would be that the most recent version is better, but is that automaticly correct.

There is more than one thing to consider here, but in general... yes, the most recent version ( 4.0.2 ) is probably the best choice.  It will ( over a reasonable period of time ) become the more supported version, as Microsoft itself will continue to push ASP.Net 2.0 adoption ( and upgrade ).  Although we have some reports of inconsistent behavior on the 4.x version, most folks are running on it quite happily and the 4.x version can run modules built for 3.x.
