Yes, you can use thirdparty module for like module from http://components.init.si. DNN database should allows connections from other locations.

Kind regards,

Ok guys, i would like to share my toughts;

Your solution sounds great to me. I need to check Event Viewer of Remote Server, is this module capable to that?

For example most people use Godaddy, and they sometimes have trouble with Godaddy Servers, but they don't access to check Event Viewer and Godaddy support (except experts) does not even know how to check server logs. So there would be great solution which users can log into remote servers event viewer and check errors.

I'm not sure for godaddy. You should provide sql database connection string for DNN database and that is all. If you have connection string and database is accessible from outside then there is no problem - it depends on type of installation (if is integrated security or not) etc. I use module for my servers.

Anyway you can use module for "on-site" log viewer - it is much faster, you can sort and filter data on all fields etc. and you do not have to be host or admin - just regular user. You can download module and try it for free and see if module meets your requirements.

Kind regards,

Primoz

P.S. I use module also for permission and role viewer (for pages and modules), for site and event log viewer, for forums aggregate viewer and searcher (original is sloooow) etc. All data is in database and this is DNN GUI for database.

i'm refering to dotnetnuke event viewer, not to Event Viewer of Remote Server.... Dotnetnuke event viewer is stored in the database...
