Hi Philip.

I didn't realise there was an unspoken law around raising this sticky issue on any other day than Friday.   LOL

This question doesn't probably coincide with the topic of this thread (thanks god 'cos it's only thursday!) but after installing dotnetnuke I don't see a great variety of existing modules to add under the "Add new module" radio button/pulldown combo. For example, a calendar, or a discussion or blog. Do you have to build these modules or buy them? I thought DNN was opensource.

Is there a list of existing modules that can be plugged in to DNN?

Thanks,

Steve

There are several "built -in" modules depending on the version you install.  The ones you mentioned are core development team sponsored sub-projects and are free and open source.  There are literally HUNDREDS of 3rd party modules for DNN however (most are commercial but some are also free and open source)  See the following as example listings of other modules.

Steve:

You see only very few modules available because in the last few versions of DNN it was decided to not install all the modules by default.  This saves resources, initial loading time, etc.

The rest of the basic modules that are actually part of the DNN install package are now at the bottom of the screen where you manage the modules as Host.  You just need to select the ones you want and install them.  They are already in the DNN directory, you don't even need to upload or anything.  Just instruct DNN to install them so that you can use them.

Go through this first, then you can look for more available modules in the DNN market.
