All, I'm pretty new at DNN, but not with web work in general.

I installed 4.5.1 using the wizard wlkathrough (Install package only).

I'm using SQL Express.

When I went into SQL Management Console to backup the database, come to find out that there is no SQL database named DotNetNuke with Tables.  There is a DotNetNuke database that I created (per the walktrough instruction), but it appears that there are no tables associated with it.  I'm racking my brain trying to fiure out how I can have a successfull DotNetNuke website going with tons of data, but no database conencted to SQL?

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,

Mark

The method you are using actually attaches the database at runtime to the database server and detaches when the application quits running.  The database server does not really know that the database exists.

Thanks for replying.  I was able to figure out that if I want to backup the database, I will need to, within MS SQL Server Management Studio Express, right click on the "Databases" item, select "Attach" and then click "Add", navigate to the actual Database.mdf file, select it and then should be able to perform a Backup.  The problem is that SQL Server throws an error when I try to attach the Database.  I do not have my browser open, so I should be able to select it, but I can't.  Any ideas why I am unable to backup this database?

Thanks for any replies!

Mark
