There are lots of talks of installing DNN to the root folder on GoDaddy.  However, I did the default install into a subdirectory and configured my site.  Everything was working fine until I tried to use child portals.  Apparently their is an issue with using child portals when DNN is installed into a directory other then the root.  Is there a way to MOVE my install into the root?  I have alot of modules set up and would hate to have to recreate everything.

Yes you can move it.....but you would have to do a few things first.

1.) Add a portal alias for the "new" url, which will simply be your domain rather than your domain with a folder
2.) Actually move the files and ensure that everything is properly setup (NOTE: ensure that all permissions are set as well as proper directory security)
3.) Verify that no links in text/html modules are incorrect due to the move
4.) Remove the old portal alias!

That should be it in a nutshell...
