I have searched high and low to find some documentation on creating multiply portals after installing DNN on my GoDaddy account using Metroplis. My main question is after creating the parent portal what steps do I need to take on the Godaddy side to make it work. On the DNN side I am not sure what to put in the alias field. If my main DNN install is at www.domain.com/dotnetnuke what do I need to put in the alias field when creating the parent portal? Another question; after creating my parent portal do i need to create any sub directories of domains in GoDaddy to make this work. At this point I am not that concern with domain forwarding, i will worry about that later. I just want to set some parent domains up and see how everything interacts with each other. Thanks in advance for the help.

Brian

Godaddy tech support said that you need to install DNN in the root.  That would mean you could only use it with your primary domain name on their shared windows hosting.  There may be a trick to get around this, but officially Godaddy does not recommend using a non-primary domain.

A parent portal needs a separate domain name, so you need to register it, put it in DNS and then use that domain name as the alias.  A child portal is a subfolder of your current domain, so it would be like www.domain.com/dotnetnuke/child1.  You shouldn't need to do anything in GoDaddy except add your DNS entries.
