I started the development of a fairly complex module (application actually) in 4.5.3, now that 4.5.4 and its associated Starter Kit are out I would like to know if there are changes between the 4.5.3 and 4.5.4 Starter Kits.  And if so, how can I update my module to incorporate whatever changes are included in the 4.5.4 Starter Kit.

I'll appreciate the help.  I have looked and there isn't much information on the upgrades or new features (changes) to the Starter Kits whenever a new DNN release comes out.

Actually once the DotNetNuke installation has been created, you upgrade it by simply unzipping the upgrade package over it. Just like you would upgrade a normal site.

In practice I only install the Stater kit one time on a computer. After that I use:

  • Setting-up the Environment (using IIS)
  • Setting-up the Environment (without IIS)
  • To create new sites. Each time I want to create a new DotNetNuke development site (I create a new DotNetNuke development site for each module I make) I download the latest DotNetNuke install package and set it up. I don't use the starter kit new project. The most useful thing in the starter kit is the module template. That template rarely changes.
